University Club of St. Paul, Saint Paul Wedding Photographer

University Club of St. Paul is such a wonderful Saint Paul wedding venue! With fireplaces, chandeliers, beautiful windows, romantic greenery, and stunning architectural detail, this venue is perfect for couples looking for a more intimate setting. The University Club was constructed back in 1913 and was designed by architect Allen H. Stem, a prominent Saint Paul architect who co-designed the Grand Central Station in New York City with Charles A. Reed. He also designed numerous Summit Avenue homes and local landmarks in Saint Paul, including University Club’s sister property, Saint Paul Athletic Club. The University Club has a beautiful view of the downtown Saint Paul skyline and Mississippi River Valley. The University Club contains a Fireside Room, The Summit Room, The Terrace, The Overlook Room, a library, and more! Their indoor ceremony site has a beautiful fireplace to serve as a backdrop. If a couple wants an outdoor wedding, the club will host you at Lookout Park which is adjacent from the property. For outdoor photos, I love walking with my couples around the surrounding area. There is so much beauty and history in this area of Saint Paul! For couples looking for an intimate Saint Paul wedding venue with beautiful architecture and a rich history, I highly recommend looking into University Club of St. Paul! Autumn and Colin planned their Minnesota fall wedding from Colorado! These two met at law school in Virginia and were best friends for years before they started dating.  Colin planned the most perfect proposal! He proposed at Garden of the Gods by Pikes Peak in Colorado! Can you imagine being swept off your feet and the beauty? Their Mayowood Stone Barn “Fall in Love” wedding was filled with shades of bright orange and red! Their decor consisted of silk fall leaves and they even had apples as their wedding guest favors. The bridesmaids wore long, silver shimmer gowns to really make their red and orange bouquets pop! The couple also had four flower girls and two junior bridesmaids as well as one ring bearer! At their reception, the couple had a variety of fun cupcakes including brown butter pumpkin, cookies n cream, chai latte, wedding cake white, peanut butter cup, hot chocolate, chocolate decadence, fresh strawberry, and Andes Candies! My favorite photos of the day were at sunset in the field! Melanie and Scott got married! They had their wedding at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd, MN. These two included their family into the wedding: Melanie’s brother officiated, her cousins created all of their signs, one cousin sang during the ceremony, Melanie’s mom created the playlist for the DJ, Melanie’s uncle was the videographer, and so forth! For the reception, the couple was looking forward most to their fish fry- they caught all of the fish themselves! A special ceremony detail is that the couple is doing a bonsai planting ceremony instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony. Since they are a military family and constantly moving, they wanted to be able to bring the plant with them wherever they go. Each of their moms brought soil from their hometowns to plant with the bonsai. “It’s a great representation of two people coming from opposite sides of the country and starting a new life together,” says Melanie. Rewind to the summer of 2013- Scott had just finished up a two-year stint in Japan and Melanie had completed her M.A. degree. They were both living in San Diego at the time. Scott and his friends went to Hooley’s Irish Pub. They were dressed up and the group of sailors approached Melanie and her friend, Lauren. Scott and Melanie’s first impressions: Melanie thought he was a typical sailor and Scott thought Melanie was a bit of an “airhead.” They went their separate ways and ended up seeing each other at parties and concerts. One night, Scott, Melanie, and some mutual friends were heading to The Zac Brown Band. Their friends thought it would be funny to...
