I had the honor of photographing business portraits for the International Live Events Association (ILEA): Minneapolis- St. Paul Chapter. ILEA was formerly International Special Events Society and they recently made the change to their new name. This group represents more than 5,000 members globally, all live event professionals who do business together, share knowledge, nurture talent, and progress the industry. I’m looking forward to photographing six more Twin Cities events for ILEA this year! Are you engaged and looking for an engagement photographer and wedding photographer in Minnesota? Are you struggling to put together the perfect outfit for your Minnesota engagement photos? Help is here! As a Minneapolis engagement photographer, I have a few rules to help my couples decide what to wear for their engagement session. Before searching on Pinterest, consider these two questions: What will the weather be like on the day of your engagement portraits? Where do you want to go for your engagement session? Dress smart based on the answers to those two questions. You don’t want to wear a short dress and 6 inch heels if you want photos at Minnehaha Falls in February. You also don’t want to wear five layers and leather boots while walking around the Stone Arch Bridge in July. Choose your outfit’s style based on the weather and location. You also want to wear something comfortable! If those shoes hurt your feet, if those skinny jeans feel too tight, or that skirt seems too short- skip it! You want to be able to move around, have fun, and feel confident! So without further ado, here are the 5 basic rules to engagement outfits along with photo inspiration from real Twin Cities engagement sessions: Choose one formal outfit and one or two casual outfits. Wear layers. Coordinate with your partner’s outfit.  Add a pop of color. When in doubt, stick with solid colors. Avoid logos, graphics, writing, or patterns.   We hope you’re inspired to put together your engagement session outfits now! If you need help choosing your outfit before your session with Jeannine Marie Photography, feel free to text photos to me. I’m more than happy to be your fashion...

When Mike, the owner of North Mallow & Co. (a delicious s’mores bar), called and told me he was going to propose to Christine, I was beyond excited to photograph this moment for them! On the big day, I discreetly followed these two around the Mill City Museum and Stone Arch Bridge area as they walked their dog, Fulton. When it was time for the proposal, Mike managed to hold on to Christine’s hand, their dog’s leash, and pull the ring out from his pocket. Talk about impressive! Of course, she said yes! Congratulations, Mike and Christine! Enjoy every moment of being engaged!...
