Jeannine Marie Photography was featured on Intimate Weddings this week! We loved being a part of this Northern Lights Styled Shoot at The Outing Lodge in Stillwater, MN, an inspiration for any couple planning a Minnesota winter wedding. Maddie with Ask for the Moon Events did an amazing job planning the shoot and putting together a rockstar vendor team to create this winter wonderland. With this shoot, we wanted to embrace the vintage style with a frosted spin. We didn’t want everything to be too rustic or give the “up north in the woods” feel. So we incorporated chandeliers, dusty blue linens, and dozens of candles. Using frosted pinecones in various spots (folded napkins, next to place cards) really gave a winter wonderland look. The Outing Lodge was the perfect spot for the shoot. The venue has multiple fireplaces that we dressed up with greenery, strings of crystals, and candles. We also used a vintage chandelier above the harvest table. One of our favorite parts of the shoot was the lighting! We used the venue’s “wall of chandeliers”, as well as set up LED lights on a stone wall. We were inspired by the Northern Lights to use blues, purples, and greens for the LED lighting. For the floral, we wanted to mirror the dusty linen decor by using soft greenery, dusty miller, eucalyptus, and white tulips. Thanks to all of the wonderful vendors who were a part of this amazing style shoot! Ask for the Moon Events put together this Phantom of the Opera style shoot at the Van Dusen Mansion was inspired by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s marvelous musical. All of the vendors involved in the shoot are huge fans of the show, but in this style shoot—the Phantom gets the girl! For couples planning a themed wedding, they should make sure the theme has many details that can be incorporated into different aspects of the wedding. Whether the concept is a distinct color, a vintage feel, fairy tale flare, or has the facets of the royal wedding—the couple should feel passionate about that particular idea. They should also make sure they stick to the theme. Sometimes couples can get excited about too many characteristics of different themes, and end up losing their vision and focus. Even when you want to ‘wow’ your guests with a remarkable event, remember that less is always more. Make sure that the theme doesn’t overshadow the most important aspect of the entire day—your wedding. Red roses, sheet music, masks, and guest favor boxes were all inspired by the Phantom of the Opera theme in this styled shoot.
