TCWEP Volunteering, Bridging

Twin Cities Wedding & Events Professionals got together to volunteer with Bridging. We helped sort through donations as they moved into their new building in Roseville, MN. Thanks to Kellie with Rustic Elegance, My with PaperThick Ink, Addie with Urban Fitness, and Erin with Onsite for volunteering with TCWEP! For those unfamiliar with this great cause, Bridging is a nonprofit organization that provides quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Driven by volunteers and donations of furniture and household goods from the community, they have furnished over 75,000 homes since 1987. They serve over 13,000 people in need every year, including 6500 youth and children. On average, they distribute 11 semi-truck loads of furniture and household goods to 80 households every week. They currently have two locations, one in Bloomington and one in Roseville. Bridging accepts quality, gently used items. Once a month, volunteers from Twin Cities Wedding & Event Professionals team up to give back to the community. Last month, the group volunteered for the Sandwich Project. The Sandwich Project is a great way for groups to give back to the community. The mission of the Sandwich Project started with the goal of feeding 150 homeless people in Minnesota everyday of the year. Today, their goal is to feed 4,500 people per week at homeless shelters and food shelves. Volunteers purchase sandwich meat, cheese, and bread. Using gloves, they put together sandwiches and place them in ziplock baggies. The date is marked on the bags and all of the sandwiches are brought to a local drop site. Special thanks to all of the other vendors at TCWEP that volunteered to help with the Sandwich Project: Rustic Elegance, Ask for the Moon Events, Studio Starfish, Kate Minor Photography, Kristinadesignz, We’ve Got It Covered, Anna Hildenbrand – Wedding Soloist, and Eva with Thrivent Financial....
