5 Things Couples Forget When Planning Their Wedding | Ask for the Moon Events

Maddie, a Twin Cities wedding planner and owner of Ask for the Moon Events, shared a few tips for couples with us. In her years of wedding planning, she has noticed that many couples often forget these 5 things while planning their wedding: 1. Weigh an Invitation and Bring One to the Wedding Before you mail your invitations to your guests, bring a fully assembled one to the post office to be weighed for the correct postage. Double check that all of your inserts as well as the RSVP card and envelope are included! It would be an expensive headache to have the invitations returned due to incorrect postage- ugh! Also, don’t forget to save one stationery suite to bring to the wedding reception! Your photographer can get pictures of it with the rings or bridal bouquet! So pretty! 2. Wedding Party Lunch & Vendor Meals Your wedding day is planned out to the minute: hair, makeup, get dressed, take photos, ceremony start time- hold on a second…what about lunch!? Make sure to schedule a quick timeout to get something in your stomach and drink a lot of water! Have Jimmy Johns deliver or ask a friend to pick up a deli tray from the grocery store. You’ll need your strength! Make sure you include your fantastic vendor team in the meal count for the reception. They’ve been working non-stop all day to make your wedding amazing! Ask the caterers if they offer discounted meals for vendors. 3. Reception Band and Miscellaneous Details Having a fantastic cover band at your reception is a great way to get the energy...

This stunning Hope Glen Farm enchanted tree house styled shoot was recently featured in Minnesota Bride’s online wedding blog. We are so excited to finally be able to share all of these beautiful photos with everyone! This enchanted tree house styled shoot was inspired by Hope Glen Farm’s newest addition: a honeymoon treehouse. Hope Glen Farm in Cottage Grove, MN was purchased back in 2001 and became a wedding venue in 2013. Every year since, the owners have been adding new features to the venue with the treehouse being the “grand finale.” A 150 year old oak tree on the property was transformed into a beautiful tree house by Koinonia Design Architectural for couples to stay during their wedding weekend- or any day of the week! The treehouse looks like something straight out of a fairytale! Couples who love nature and feel at home in the woods can draw inspiration from this woodsy, vintage styled shoot at Hope Glen Farm. The treehouse completed our vision of an enchanting wedding filled with flowers and candles. Our beautiful bride is wearing a soft blue wedding dress to enhance the dreamy, fairytale vision. To complement the surrounding nature and woods, our groom is even wearing a wooden bow tie! For our reception decor, we used floral, greenery, candles, recycled bottles, and miscellaneous vintage rentals. The table numbers and escort cards were designed using pages from a French book, Histoire de Saint Francois, as an ode to St. Francis of Assisi and his patronage of animals and the natural environment. One of our favorite parts of this shoot is decorating the treehouse with candles...

Meet Lindsay and Kimberly, the wonderful ladies behind Pink Peony Weddings & Events! I first met Kimberly several years ago while we both worked in sales. I first met Lindsay a couple of years ago at a Mintahoe Tasting event at Nicollet Island Pavilion. She trusted me to do her boudoir session before she flew off to Italy for her wedding! I am so honored that these two asked me to photograph head shots and website photos for their new business. For this photo shoot, these two Minneapolis wedding planners brought along so many fun props! From pink peonies to champagne flutes to gold vases to actual day planners- we had a lot to play with! Plus- how gorgeous are these outfits? Love, love, love! Thanks for the fun shoot, ladies! Can’t wait to work with you two in the future!...
