A’BULAE Sangria and Silver Wedding | Saint Paul Wedding Photographer

Ashley and Tom said “I do” at A’BULAE in downtown Saint Paul! This couple toured ten wedding venues, but knew there was no venue that would top A’BULAE. They loved the big, open dance floor and they knew their sangria and silver color palette would fit the room perfectly. A special moment on their wedding day was Tom’s gift to Ashley. He got her a gorgeous necklace. During the first look, Ashley didn’t wear a necklace, and aftedr seeing her, Tom smiled and said, “My gift is going to match your dress perfectly!” And he was right! The necklace was a perfect fit with Ashley’s wedding gown. Ask for the Moon Events helped plan their big day and everything came together beautifully! These two have been together for four years and engaged for two years so their families and friends couldn’t wait for the big day! Ashley and Tom first met during their freshmen year of college at University of Wisconsin: Eau Claire. She was part of Delta Zeta and he was in Delta Sigma Phi. The sororities and fraternities were helping an all-night Relay for Life event. At the event, attendees were encourage to walk around the track in support of a love one that was battling cancer. Ashley and Tom walked around the track together and found out they had a lot in common. They hung out all night and have been inseparable ever since. Then during the summer of 2016, Ashley and Tom did a weekend trip in Chicago. They went to the Planetarium and Ashley noticed that Tom was acting funny during the constellation show. One...

Courtney and Doug met all the way back in the fourth grade! They were introduced by Courtney’s best friend (and one of the bridesmaids) Katelyn, who was also Doug’s neighbor. Courtney and Doug were best friends growing up and dated a few times throughout their school days but eventually drifted apart when Courtney went to college in Duluth. At her sister’s wedding, Courtney knew she had to see him again and sent him a text. From there, the two started dating and it eventually led to October 27th of 2016. Courtney was on fall break from college and Doug took her to dinner. They drove to the Maple Grove band shell, a placed filled with fun memories for the two. They walked down to the shell and Doug gave Courtney a small speech that ended with him on one knee. Of course, she said yes! For their big day, they wanted an Art Deco/ Great Gatsby themed wedding. They chose Historic Concord Exchange in South St. Paul because the venue is over 100 years old and they could picture themselves “partying like Gatsby” in the former nightclub venue. They wanted their wedding to be an endless night of partying and celebrating and they definitely achieved that! They even had a signature drink of Arnold Palmer and Captain Morgan for their unity ceremony to kick off the fun atmosphere! One of my favorite things about the night was that the couple had cheesecakes from Muddy Paws Cheesecake! So yummy!! View their Minneapolis engagement session here! Rachel and Joe met at George Mason University in Virginia as undergrad students. The two were neighbors and had several mutual friends so one day, they decided to go see a movie together. And well, the rest is history! “Being college sweethearts is wonderful- we had the opportunity to have fun as students and transition into the working world together,” Rachel said. Skip ahead to Memorial Day of 2017. Rachel and Joe were having date night and it started at Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall (one of their favorite spots to go to talk and watch the sunset). On this night, Joe got down on one knee and proposed! Of course, Rachel said yes! Rachel and Joe planned their wedding all the way from Washington D.C.! The couple, as well as Rachel’s family, all live in Virginia. Joe’s family is from Minnesota so they decided to have the wedding in Joe’s home state! Their wedding ceremony was at Church of Assumption and the reception was at Landmark Center. The couple chose Church of Assumption because Joe’s family regularly attends church services there. They chose Landmark Center for their reception venue because they loved the classic look of the building and they knew their Virginia relatives would enjoy the enriching Minnesota history that the Landmark Center has to offer. In honor of the couple’s history in Virginia and Rachel’s home state, their table numbers were all Washington D.C. themed! Both Rachel and Joe love the color light blue so they also decided to incorporate this color into their flowers, ceremony programs, and wedding party’s attire. One very special aspect...

Qamar and Kasim had their Middle Eastern style wedding reception at 317 on Rice Park Event Center in Saint Paul. Before the reception, Kasim got ready at Heimie’s Haberdashery while Qamar got ready at Saint Paul Hotel. The couple had their first look in the lobby of the Saint Paul Hotel and then we got portraits at the hotel and at the Landmark Center. In between family portraits and the reception, we went to Harriet Island Pavilion to get some Saint Paul skyline shots! Before the cake cutting, the couple did a ring exchange. My favorite part about this wedding was the dancing! DJ Yousef and Tito the drummer had the dance floor packed all night long! Meghan and Omaur met three years ago while they both worked as trainers at Lifetime Fitness. They began dating and then got engaged last August at Butcher & the Boar. For their St. Paul College Club wedding, they incorporated a musical theme into their day since Omaur is into music production. In fact, his company, Henley Audio, provided the sound equipment and the string trio for the ceremony! They also used sheet music within the bouquets and other decor. This musical day was full of laughs, happy tears, gorgeous floral by Studio Emme, yummy donuts from Glam Doll Donuts, and delicious cake from Angel Food Bakery.
