St. Paul College Club | Navy and Green Wedding | Saint Paul Wedding Photographer

Erin and Jake live out-of-state so they relied on Erin’s family to help them find the perfect wedding venue. Since Erin and Jake both love old houses, the St. Paul College Club was an easy fit. It also happens to be down the street from where Erin lived during college, and she always found the neighborhood to be adorable. The venue has a beautiful outdoor ceremony site that the couple loved because it’s in the garden and surrounded by greenery. It wasn’t hard to see that this was the perfect place for this couple to have their navy and green wedding. One very special part of their day was a traditional heirloom. Jake’s mom gave Erin a very special coin that has been passed down in her family. The coin completes the lesser known verse of the traditional saying, “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in your shoe!” For some reason, the sixpence in your shoe often gets left off the rhyme and many brides have forgotten this part. But Jake’s mom’s family made the sixpence a tradition. So, honoring the tradition, Erin taped the coin in her shoe! The second part of this family tradition is to also have the bride paint her name and wedding date on the wooden box where the coin is kept. We love this unique tradition! Other special aspects of their day included a poem written by Erin’s friend and read during the ceremony. One of Jake’s friends performed a song at the ceremony. For their cocktail hour, their two signature drinks were named after their beloved pets who couldn’t join them...

Congratulations, Dawndra and Tim! These two got married at A’BULAE in St. Paul, MN. Dawndra and Tim first met after Tim’s friend invited him to Evergreen Church in New Hope, MN. The church had a small group for young adult singles. Dawndra and Tim were both in this small group. One day, Dawndra sent an email to the group asking if anyone had the skills to build a wooden chair for a relative. Tim volunteered to help and the two started to build a friendship while spending hours together making the chair. Fast forward a few years to Dawndra and Tim leading the young adult small group together. They spent a lot of time praying together and preparing for the group. As Tim tells the story: “This is where we began to grow a deep connection together, and both started to run to the other when we needed comfort or prayer. This started us each individually falling in love with the other, until finally God fully revealed to us (mostly me) that the other liked them.” Now fast forward to the proposal. On Dawndra’s birthday, Tim arrived at her place with iced coffee and flowers. They had planned to take a morning walk by the beach near Dawndra’s house. However, it ended up raining so they decided to color (an elementary school teacher’s way to relax!). While coloring, Tim was telling her about a new devotional he had read about not having any doubts in the Lord. Well he perfectly planned this conversation to segue into a proposal as he told Dawndra he had no doubt that their relationship was...

Laura and Ben had a beautiful Saint Paul Hotel wedding, full of romantic red roses. These two first met after a mutual friend set them up. The two eventually moved in together, and Ben popped the question with the help of their cat. He had tied the ring around the cat’s neck with a note that asked Laura to marry him. Of course, she said yes! The two chose the Saint Paul Hotel as their wedding venue because they loved the beautiful, comfortable atmosphere and that it was centrally located. Laura has loved the venue for a long time, so when Ben proposed, it was a no-brainer to book the Saint Paul Hotel right away! Congratulations, Amanda and Al! These two tied the knot at Embassy Suites in St. Paul. They had an indoor ceremony followed by a reception in one of the hotel’s ballrooms. These two used a lot of DIY for their peacock themed wedding. A friend’s mom made them a cute peacock cake. The bride’s mom and her friend made the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets with beads! One of my favorite details that incorporated the peacock theme was the  bride’s heels. How are cute are those?
