I am so excited to introduce you to The Riveter Minneapolis. I had the privilege of photographing a happy hour event they hosted at The Bird to celebrate the upcoming opening of their coworking space in Edina. What exactly is The Riveter? It is a wonderful resource for independent contractors, remote employees, and entrepreneurs. This growing community of professional women helps startups and small businesses reach the next level by providing networking opportunities both digitally and in real life. Interested members can rent a floating desk, a designated desk, a private office, conference space, or meeting space to obtain a professional touch to your startup or small business. The Riveter is also available to rent for events. I had so much fun photographing this “Cocktails and Conversation” event and can’t wait to see this group of women help local small businesses succeed!
Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities‘ annual Big Night Gala took place at The Depot in Minneapolis this year! This event brings together community leaders and stakeholders to celebrate and support the work of the organization. For those unfamiliar with the program, Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentorship opportunity for adults to mentor a child between the ages of 8 to 12-year-old. These life-changing relationships provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring support that change their lives for the better. To learn more about the program or to become a mentor, check out their website!
A very special to the Big Night Gala’s sponsors. View the full list here.
Two weeks before Michelle and Andy were to be married last fall Michelle’s mom had a brain aneurysm. They couldn’t possibly celebrate without her so they rescheduled for the spring. It was so incredible to see Michelle’s mom there for the wedding and celebrate with them! Their ceremony was at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church followed by a reception at Walker Art Center. One of my absolute favorite details of Michelle and Andy’s big day was Michelle’s red wedding gown designed by Danese Creations. It was absolutely stunning! I couldn’t get enough of it! I loved how the bold color pops in the photos!

Kelly and Brian knew they wanted an art deco wedding with romantic, vintage details. Their wedding reception style was also influenced by the 1920’s era with classic cocktails, glamor, and everyone enjoying a good time! When choosing their wedding venue, Kelly and Brian knew they wanted to get married in a church. They chose Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church because of it’s stunning architecture and rich history. Plus, the church celebrates French Canadian heritage so it’s a nice nod to Brian’s French Canadian lineage. When choosing a reception venue, the couple decided on Lumber Exchange Event Center. They loved the character of the venue and found that the venue’s style fit best with their vintage wedding feel. The Lumber Exchange Event Center also just so happens to be the same building where Kelly and Brian first met back in 2016 at a bachelorette party! Brian had boldly approached Kelly’s friend’s bachelorette group and the girls told him that Kelly was single. His reply? “Not for long!” He was right!

Brittany and Chris met while attending the University of Minnesota and now they’re both attorneys in Washington DC. They decided to have their wedding in Minnesota and chose to say “I do” surrounded by beautiful art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. We had a blast getting photos outside the museum and in different galleries throughout the museum. Aside from having such an incredible and truly unique Twin Cities wedding venue, my favorite details about this wedding were Brittany’s accessories! She ordered a beautiful custom-made Cathedral length veil from
Adorn by Ashley in England with vibrant petals attached to it. She also had wooden flowers for the bouquets! It was such a privilege to photograph this joyous day and a huge shout-out to Anne with Rosetree Events for helping Brittany and Chris execute their wedding day vision!

We had so much fun being apart of this styled shoot at the beautiful American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. This unique wedding venue offers a contemporary setting at their Nelson Cultural Center. This Nordic-inspired wedding option has an open, fresh, modern, and flexible design. With indoor and outdoor spaces, couples can create their perfect wedding. The hall can set up to 250 guests for dinners and also has a terrace overlooking the courtyard. There’s even the option to dance the night away in the courtyard under the twinkling lights and stars! Our shoot took place at the Nelson Cultural Center, but the venue also has the stunning Turnblad Mansion with beautiful mahogany wood carvings, a two-story fireplace, stained glass windows, and a balcony.

I am a member of the International Live Events Association (ILEA) Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter. Every month, Twin Cities event professionals get together to network and for an educational presentation that’s relevant to the local live events industry. For April’s meeting, we met at The Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District in Minneapolis. ILEA President Sara Grauf, CSEP and past ILEA President Jodi Collen, CSEP, led the group in an interactive conversation about the current and future state of the live events industry, including topics on growth, professionalism, commoditization, and our industry’s position in the global economy. As always, we had some great conversation and I enjoyed networking with fellow Twin Cities event professionals! Are you an event professional looking for a great networking group while also benefiting from some educational programs? Learn more about ILEA here!
Special thanks to my fellow April meeting’s sponsors: The Canopy, Sadie’s Couture Floral, VoiceHive, AVEX, Coppersmith Photography, Freestyle Productions, MeetingPages, Premier Transportation, and Twin Cities Business.
Beth and Kyle had a sports-themed engagement session honoring the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and the Green Bay Packers. These two are also big Wild fans, and got engaged on Beth’s birthday right before attending a game. While at the game, Beth had a sign about her birthday. The manager got them on the kiss cam and then gave them some carrot cake after the game!
There was no better engagement session location for these two sports fanatics than the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Closer to sunset, we also headed over to the Stone Arch Bridge and got some great shots with the city skyline. I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding at Windows on Minnesota in Minneapolis this December!
Danika and Blake’s spring engagement session ended up being a winter wonderland after our April snowstorm here in Minnesota. We went to Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis where the snowy weather surrounded the gorgeous waterfall. These two high school sweethearts were cracking up and having a blast being models for a few hours! I can’t wait to photograph these two again at their Round Barn Farm wedding this fall!
Such an honor to have photographed Louis and Brittany’s spring wedding at Nicollet Island Pavilion. Louis’s sister Maddie is the owner and lead wedding planner of Ask for the Moon Events. She’s also a very dear friend of mine, and I had the privilege of photographing her wedding two years ago. It is such a huge compliment when family members of my past wedding couples ask me to capture their big days too!
For their wedding, Brittany and Louis decided to have an “under the stars” theme since they both love being outdoors and they got engaged while on a camping trip. The two were in Door County, Brittany’s favorite spot. After setting up their campsite, they decided to go for a bike ride to watch the sunset. They biked to a secluded area in the woods that overlooked the water. That’s where Louis got down on one knee. Brittany said yes, and she couldn’t believe Louis had pulled off this surprise without her figuring out what he was up to!
To set their starry night mood, they decided to bring the outdoors inside. Ignite Lighting and Entertainment created a beautiful night sky with blue and purple lights. The venue was filled with candles and greenery, as well as silver and purple decor. The night was absolutely perfect!
