Science Museum of Minnesota Wedding | Saint Paul Wedding Photographer

Catie and Matt had their fall wedding at the Science Museum of Minnesota in Saint Paul, MN! This couple met their first year at Macalester College while living on the same dorm floor. They didn’t start dating though until they reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding back in 2014. They saw each other a few times before Catie flew to Kenya for four month. Thanks to Skype, they were able to stay in contact and then a trip to Copenhagen sealed the deal! Jump ahead to November of 2016, Matt planned a scavenger hunt around Rochester, NY for Catie. Cards were waiting at each location with clues for Catie to follow. At the end of the scavenger hunt, Matt was waiting to propose on the High Falls Bridge. Of course, Catie said yes! These two were both science majors and have careers in the science field. Due to their love for science, the Science Museum of Minnesota was the perfect venue! The wedding theme was dinosaurs everything! Catie’s ring is even made out of dinosaur bones and meteorites! It was only fit that we got some photos photos with the museum’s dinosaur exhibit.  Thanks so much you two for letting me be apart of your big day! This wedding was dino-mite! Cassie and Cory tied the knot at Deglman Farm in Princeton, MN! These two met back in 2005 at work. They didn’t get engaged until November of 2014. They were walking out of a Garth Brooks concert. It was snowing and Cory proposed while their friends recorded it! Since these two love country music, it only seemed right to have a country barn wedding! The entire bridal party wore cowboy boots. For the rustic wedding decor, they used a lot of burlap and lace. One of my favorite parts about this wedding is how they involved their daughter, Serenity. From getting ready to being a part of the ceremony to her very own father daughter dance with Cory, Serenity was very involved for every part of her parents’ happy day! View their winter engagement session here! Melanie and Scott got married! They had their wedding at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd, MN. These two included their family into the wedding: Melanie’s brother officiated, her cousins created all of their signs, one cousin sang during the ceremony, Melanie’s mom created the playlist for the DJ, Melanie’s uncle was the videographer, and so forth! For the reception, the couple was looking forward most to their fish fry- they caught all of the fish themselves! A special ceremony detail is that the couple is doing a bonsai planting ceremony instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony. Since they are a military family and constantly moving, they wanted to be able to bring the plant with them wherever they go. Each of their moms brought soil from their hometowns to plant with the bonsai. “It’s a great representation of two people coming from opposite sides of the country and starting a new life together,” says Melanie. Rewind to the summer of 2013- Scott had just finished up a two-year stint in Japan and Melanie had completed her M.A. degree. They were both living in San Diego at the time. Scott and his friends went to Hooley’s Irish Pub. They were dressed up and the group of sailors approached Melanie and her friend, Lauren. Scott and Melanie’s first impressions: Melanie thought he was a typical sailor and Scott thought Melanie was a bit of an “airhead.” They went their separate ways and ended up seeing each other at parties and concerts. One night, Scott, Melanie, and some mutual friends were heading to The Zac Brown Band. Their friends thought it would be funny to...
