A’BULAE Sangria and Silver Wedding | Saint Paul Wedding Photographer

Jun 4, 2018 | Saint Paul Wedding Photographer, Saint Paul Wedding Venues, Spring Wedding

Ashley and Tom said “I do” at A’BULAE in downtown Saint Paul! This couple toured ten wedding venues, but knew there was no venue that would top A’BULAE. They loved the big, open dance floor and they knew their sangria and silver color palette would fit the room perfectly. A special moment on their wedding day was Tom’s gift to Ashley. He got her a gorgeous necklace. During the first look, Ashley didn’t wear a necklace, and aftedr seeing her, Tom smiled and said, “My gift is going to match your dress perfectly!” And he was right! The necklace was a perfect fit with Ashley’s wedding gown. Ask for the Moon Events helped plan their big day and everything came together beautifully! These two have been together for four years and engaged for two years so their families and friends couldn’t wait for the big day! Ashley and Tom first met during their freshmen year of college at University of Wisconsin: Eau Claire. She was part of Delta Zeta and he was in Delta Sigma Phi. The sororities and fraternities were helping an all-night Relay for Life event. At the event, attendees were encourage to walk around the track in support of a love one that was battling cancer. Ashley and Tom walked around the track together and found out they had a lot in common. They hung out all night and have been inseparable ever since. Then during the summer of 2016, Ashley and Tom did a weekend trip in Chicago. They went to the Planetarium and Ashley noticed that Tom was acting funny during the constellation show. One...

Rachel and Joe met at George Mason University in Virginia as undergrad students. The two were neighbors and had several mutual friends so one day, they decided to go see a movie together. And well, the rest is history! “Being college sweethearts is wonderful- we had the opportunity to have fun as students and transition into the working world together,” Rachel said. Skip ahead to Memorial Day of 2017. Rachel and Joe were having date night and it started at Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall (one of their favorite spots to go to talk and watch the sunset). On this night, Joe got down on one knee and proposed! Of course, Rachel said yes! Rachel and Joe planned their wedding all the way from Washington D.C.! The couple, as well as Rachel’s family, all live in Virginia. Joe’s family is from Minnesota so they decided to have the wedding in Joe’s home state! Their wedding ceremony was at Church of Assumption and the reception was at Landmark Center. The couple chose Church of Assumption because Joe’s family regularly attends church services there. They chose Landmark Center for their reception venue because they loved the classic look of the building and they knew their Virginia relatives would enjoy the enriching Minnesota history that the Landmark Center has to offer. In honor of the couple’s history in Virginia and Rachel’s home state, their table numbers were all Washington D.C. themed! Both Rachel and Joe love the color light blue so they also decided to incorporate this color into their flowers, ceremony programs, and wedding party’s attire. One very special aspect...

Nothing but sunshine and smiles for Alissa and David’s Great Gatsby inspired wedding at Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis, MN. Alissa looked stunning in her birdcage veil and lace mermaid wedding gown! Oh my goodness, it was so much fun to capture the movement of this dress during the dance! One of my favorite parts of a Van Dusen wedding is all of the spots for wedding photos! We got portraits throughout the rooms of this Minneapolis mansion, in front of the mansion, in the driveway, and under the gazebo. For brides, there is a stunning bridal suite with a mannequin to put your dress on, full-length mirrors, a chandelier, a fireplace, and antique furniture. For Alissa and David’s wedding, we did the first look in the small ceremony room on the top floor of the mansion. They both shed some tears! They had their ceremony in the courtyard of the unusually warm April sunshine. Morgan and Kyle’s spring wedding took place at Gale Mansion. One of my favorite highlights of their day was how they incorporated Kyle’s daughter in the first look by having her cover his eyes as Morgan walked down the staircase. For their ceremony in the Gale Mansion Ballroom, the beautiful bride walked down the aisle to Etta James’ “At Last.” The ceremony had a majestic background of the live musicians on stage with the Grand piano. This gorgeous Minneapolis mansion was built in 1912 and originally owned by Edward Chenery Gale and Sara Bell Pillsbury. The Gale family were leaders in the development of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and their passion for art, specifically European art, is visible throughout the design of their home. The mansion’s design was influenced by the Italian Renaissance Revival style. The French doors, an Italian garden, and unique architecture makes this mansion feel like a European getaway right here in the Twin Cities which is fitting for these Italian honeymooners. Gale Mansion is now a popular Minneapolis wedding venue and it’s not hard to see why so many couples like Morgan and Kyle choose this beautiful venue! The mansion has a large ballroom that can seat up to 190 guests, a Heritage room with beautiful hardwood floors and Oriental carpets which can be turned into an indoor ceremony site, a dining room with a marble fireplace, a stunning bridal suite on the east end of the mansion that has plenty of space for the bride and her ladies to get ready, a groom’s room located on the west end of the mansion, a porch with...
