Courtyards of Andover Winter Wedding | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Ashley and John’s wedding was at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge, MN and Courtyards of Andover in Andover, MN. This couple met online a little over a year ago and knew right away they were going to get married! I’m so happy to have been apart of their big day!  The charming country church where they had their ceremony was so cute, and it even had chandeliers hanging from the ceiling! Also, Ashley’s grandfather helped build the back wall in the church’s sanctuary so it was very special to say “I do” there! Next to the church was a woods area where we got some great photos with what’s left of fall! For a wedding day gift, John surprised Ashley by getting a limo from Renee’s Royal Valet! How sweet is that!? It was such an honor to witness my friends, Maddie and William’s big day at The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis! Maddie is the owner and lead planner for Ask for the Moon Events and she is a very close wedding vendor friend of mine. The couple chose The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis as their venue because they loved the historic style of the building and it has a theater for the ceremony. It was perfect for their Old Hollywood themed wedding. Their guests were encouraged to dress like they were attending the Academy Awards and it was so much fun to see everyone’s gorgeous attire! The couple created movie posters with their engagement photos to display outside the theater where the ceremony was held. While guests waited for the ceremony to begin, a slideshow featuring photos of the couple throughout their relationship played. The slideshow had an overlay to look like old film negatives. All of their ceremony music were from movie scores including Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, James Bond, and even Rocky! Then as guests got to pose for photos and walk the red carpet on the way into the wedding reception. One of the highlights was the couple’s grand entrance to the Star Wars song! Plus, they had food stations instead of a formal dinner! The macaroni cheese bar was so yummy! This wedding was such a blast! Thanks so much, Maddie and William, for letting me be apart of your day! For Kelsey and Gabe’s Gale Mansion wedding, we escaped for a little while to take photos around the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It was so much fun to have Johmar Farms take the couple and me to MIA via horse-drawn carriage and get some fun winter photos in front of the building on their iconic steps. There was no snow and it was 60 degrees out! I love how their day was arranged around spending time with family and friends! It was obvious they keep many people close to them. Alison and Randy’s winter wonderland wedding complete with twinkling lights and a blue and silver color scheme was at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji followed by a reception at the Sanford Center! For their ceremony, it was so fun to see one of my 2014 couples (Marin and Dustin) perform as the ceremony musicians! One of my favorite details of the day was Alison’s dress from Formalities! Just check out the photos below- that allusion back is stunning! I also loved photographing the couple at night surrounded by Christmas lights. Talk about a winter wonderland! Kelsey and Gabe’s winter wedding was at Gale Mansion in Minneapolis, MN. I first met Kelsey at her sister’s wedding I photographed at the Van Dusen Mansion. Kelsey and Gabe had a morning wedding ceremony because it’s an English tradition (Kelsey’s family is British) and because the couple loves brunch and mimosas! These two planned their wedding from their home in Florida and wanted their venue to have a warm, welcoming feel that captures what they love about Minnesota. One of the bridesmaids, Megan, and her daughter, Chloe, toured Gale Mansion for them. Megan and Chloe agreed the mansion was perfect. As Chloe put it, “Kelsey and Gabe should have their ball here!” So it was settled. Their winter wedding was perfect! A few highlights include a horse-drawn carriage with Johmar Farms, sunshine to warm up the cold January day, and the huge smiles on Kelsey and Gabe’s faces all day long! Seriously, look at the photos- ear to ear grins in almost every single photo! Too cute! Kelsey and Gabe met back in 2011 on their first day of medical school at the University of Minnesota. Kelsey’s red hair caught Gabe’s attention and Gabe’s leather jacket caught Kelsey’s attention. In November of 2015, Gabe proposed to Kelsey with her great-grandmother’s ring! The ring was originally purchased by Kelsey’s great-grandfather in celebration of returning home to his wife after surviving World War I. It has since been passed down to the eldest daughter of each generation. How amazing is that!?
